2013 – The winter that never ends …

What a brutal winter this has turned out to be. It’s not that we got creamed with huge snow storms, although we have certainly had a lot of it. And it’s not that we’ve been in a permanent deep freeze, although we’ve certainly not seen many breaks in the fairly frigid temperatures.

It’s that the snow keeps coming … this is March, when Ottawa looks forward to April showers. We are used to the snow rapidly disappearing and by mid-March we usually are smelling the spring smells of wet gravel, before the trucks roll by to clean it all up for the summer.

But not this year … it is almost 3 weeks in on the 19th and we just got another blanket of snow to add to the snow we’ve been getting constantly for weeks. Sheesh …

Remember that a few weeks ago we got hit hard and all the buses got stuck (a very amusing evening for those of us not dependent upon this mode of transportation) …

Then late last week we got hit again …

And last night we got pounded one more time …

And so it goes … I sure hope we see the ground again one day soon …
